Where are you located? We are located about 10 miles east of Jack, about 17 miles north of Enterprise, about 25 miles south west of Troy. We are about 65 miles south of Montgomery. In southeast Alabama.
What hours are you open so we can we come and visit the puppies before we choose one? We are here most of the time. We do not have regular “open” hours as we do not have puppies continuously year-round, but we typically show our puppies and adults in the afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please note we do not show our puppies until they are at least “four” weeks of age. We will be happy to set up an appointment for you to see our puppies and/or adult dogs. We do not allow anyone to visit the puppies before they are 4 weeks old because we do not want mom to be stressed because of strangers visiting. If mom is stressed, she can have a reduction in milk and the puppies can be stressed also. This could affect the entire litter. We respectfully ask that you “not” to visit any other kennels on the day that you visit our kennel. We work very hard to keep our exposure to outside health issues that may affect small puppies to a minimum, and we know that other breeders would appreciate the same courtesy.
Are the puppies wormed? Most definitely. Our kennel is on a farm and as such we have other animals and critters around making worms inevitable. We worm the puppies twice from 3-6 weeks of age. Our puppies are vet checked and wormed by our vet. The worming information is included in your take-home packet along with the shot records. Our puppies see the vet at least 3 times before they go to their new homes and at least 4 times if the are shipped.
Do your puppies come with full AKC registration? Puppies come with a limited AKC registration. We highly recommend neuter and spay. Limited registration means you would not be able to show the pup/dog in conformation shows or use the dog for breeding purposes. You could still enter the dog in agility and other events. If you are interested in breeding, please contact me first.
Do you give the puppies their first vaccination? Our vet does. Puppies come with one set of puppy shots. A vet issued vaccination record is included in the new puppy owners take-home packet.
When will their next vaccination be due? Generally at 9 weeks and again at 12 weeks (with rabies shot).
Do you protect against parasites at your kennel? Absolutely. Parasites are a common organism, as are worms, and all breeders should protect their puppies from worms and parasites. . We administer a prescription parasite preventive called “Albon” which we get from our vet. It’s expensive, but it’s worth it!
Should I take my puppy to the vet right away? Your puppy will have had all of the health requirements administered by our vet that will ensure that you take home a happy, healthy puppy. You need to have your puppy vet checked within the 72 hours, per our contract.
What is included in the new owners take-home packet?
- Rising Creed Boxers Puppy Health Guarantee/Contract
- A copy of the Pedigree
- Registration Papers from the American Kennel Club
- Vet issued shot record
- Small bag of Loyall Puppy food
Do you dock the tails and remove the dew claws? Our vet does both.
Do you ship puppies? Yes. We ship puppies when the weather allows throughout the United States. We do not ship overseas. They must be a minimum of eight weeks of age before they can be shipped. The cost varies between $325 and $350 depending on the time of year (summer when it is hot, we have to go to a different airport which is much further away).
Does AKC ever inspect your kennel? Yes they have and we meet AKC standards.
Are you a puppy farm or puppy mill? NO! In a puppy farm/mill you will find small cages stacked, the dogs receive little to no exercise and little to no human contact. The dogs are unclean and receive lack of physical care. Here ,at Rising Creed Boxers, we invite you to come and visit if at all possible to see our facilities. Every part of our facility is cleaned daily. Our daily routine is such that the dogs are exercised each day, where they can interact with us, play catch and just plain run. They go into our large back yard to spend their day lounging in the sun or playing together with their toys. In the nighttime they are kenneled for their safety and to enable us to check each one for any health problems that may be surfacing. (All of our dogs are house trained and we rotate who sleeps at night in our home.) All our dogs here are our pets and we couldn’t love each and every one of them more. They are our number one priority and making sure they live a healthy and happy life is our goal. We really enjoy what we do and we think it shows!
